Dear Mountain Families,
We had another week of adventure at Mountain this past week. We had our first scheduled fire drill, and then an unexpected skunk drill which forced everyone inside until the smell had mellowed a bit. There's always a lot of adventure when you're surrounded by nature!
Speaking of nature, the yellow jackets LOVE that the students are back with all their delicious food. Despite using decoys and traps, the yellow jackets are winning the lunchtime battle. Beginning tomorrow, students will be eating lunch in the PAC room.
We had a wonderful assembly on Friday from the Educational Magician, Robert Vogel. The "Say no to bullying magic show" is a magic program designed specifically for elementary schools. It helps to educate students on how to recognize bullying and the many different ways students can deal with this ongoing issue. Students learn best when having fun, so this magic show is still filled with amazing moments of magical mystery. This magic show is meant to be entertaining and informative. The magic and message of this show put a smile on everyone's face during the 45 minute presentation. I'm sure many of your students tried to reenact some of the illusions at home
Our afterschool enrichment classes will begin the week of 9/3/2024. A sign up sheet will go out with more detailed information later this week. Be on the lookout, classes are filled first come, first served and space is limited.
Warm regards,
Megan Tresham

Office Manager, Rachel Loveless
|
In the fall of 2023, Rachel Loveless joined the Mountain team to provide support in the front office. With Sharon's retirement looming we knew we needed a special person to learn the ropes, provide the same love and support to students and families needing help, and someone who could make the position their own. Rachel was (and is) the perfect fit.
Rachel brings 20+ years of office experience to the position and is the mom to two amazing kids, Will, who graduated from Mountain in the Spring of 2023, and Carloyn, a 1st grader. Rachel is deeply committed to providing support to staff and families so that our students have the best educational experience possible. She is a highly skilled, thoughtful and dedicated addition to our front office crew.
Moving forward, any questions about attendance, independent study, required forms, health or medical information, etc. should be directed to Rachel.
She can be reached at rloveless@mountainesd.org
