Dear Mountain Families,

Thank you for your diligence in keeping your students home for the required amount of time to prevent the spread of illness. Thanks to your efforts and the extensive cleaning being done by our WONDERFUL custodian, Carlitos, we seem to be headed in the right direction.

Please continue to follow the guidance for both GI and respiratory illnesses that were sent home last week.

In health,

Megan Tresham, Superintendent
Returning for the 2025-26 School year?
An essential component of determining school staffing and program needs for the upcoming year is the development of an enrollment projection. We must establish an accurate count of students by grade level who will return to attend Mountain School next year.

If you currently live outside of the Mountain Elementary School District or will move out of the district before the fall, you must request an Inter-District Transfer Form from your school district of residence. Inter-District Transfers must be approved annually by both school districts prior to fall enrollment and should be obtained as soon as possible.

Please help us by completing this survey on or before before Friday, February 25, 2025. If you have multiple children enrolled at Mountain, feel free to include them all in one response.

2nd Band Class for Beginners
Our band director, Cole, is offering a second beginning band for students in grades 1-6th on Tuesdays from 2:45-4:00. No experience required. Students in beginning band get exposure to multiple instruments and the opportunity to perform for their peers and families.
Please let me know if you would like to sign your student up for this class. Scholarships are available. We want EVERY interested child to have the opportunity to participate.
When to Return to School After an Illness
Mountain students have been impacted by two nasty viruses, Norovirus and Influenza. Our goal is to stop the spread of illness to other members of our community and we need your help to do so.

If you child has had symptoms of a respiratory illness (Influenza), they can return when they have been fever-free for 24 hours without the use of fever-reducing medicine, other symptoms are getting better overall, and they can meaningfully participate in routine activities. Wear a well-fitting mask for five days after returning.

If your child has had symptoms of norovirus (vomiting, diarrhea) you MUST keep your child home for at least 48 hours AFTER symptoms have ended.

For the health and safety of the entire community, please strictly adhere to this guidance. Families who send their students to school when they are still ill or contagious risk getting other students and staff sick. The last thing we want to do is have to close school again!

Feel free to call and check-in if you are uncertain.

If your student needs to stay home we are happy to provide independent study for them.

Thank you for your continued support!
