Dear Mountain Families,

If you've ever thought about getting more involved in the inner workings of the school district, now is your time to shine! We are currently seeking parents to join the School Site Council. The SSC plays a pivotal role in the governance and management of the school by being a space where a variety of stakeholders (parents, teachers, staff) can provide input and insight into the governance of the school. Our topics will include the Local Control and Accountability Plan, District budgets, student outcomes and more. Please let me know if you are interested in participating.

Best,
Megan Tresham, Superintendent

Returning for the 2025-26 School year?
We are still awaiting responses from may families. Thank you to all who have completed it. We really appreciate it!

An essential component of determining school staffing and program needs for the upcoming year is the development of an enrollment projection. We must establish an accurate count of students by grade level who will return to attend Mountain School next year.

If you currently live outside of the Mountain Elementary School District or will move out of the district before the fall, you must request an Inter-District Transfer Form from your school district of residence. Inter-District Transfers must be approved annually by both school districts prior to fall enrollment and should be obtained as soon as possible.

Please help us by completing this survey on or before before Friday, February 25, 2025. If you have multiple children enrolled at Mountain, feel free to include them all in one response.

When to Return to School After an Illness
Mountain students have been impacted by two nasty viruses, Norovirus and Influenza. Our goal is to stop the spread of illness to other members of our community and we need your help to do so.

If you child has had symptoms of a respiratory illness (Influenza), they can return when they have been fever-free for 24 hours without the use of fever-reducing medicine, other symptoms are getting better overall, and they can meaningfully participate in routine activities. Wear a well-fitting mask for five days after returning.

If your child has had symptoms of norovirus (vomiting, diarrhea) you MUST keep your child home for at least 48 hours AFTER symptoms have ended.

For the health and safety of the entire community, please strictly adhere to this guidance. Families who send their students to school when they are still ill or contagious risk getting other students and staff sick. The last thing we want to do is have to close school again!

Feel free to call and check-in if you are uncertain.

If your student needs to stay home we are happy to provide independent study for them.

Thank you for your continued support!
