Dear Mountain Community,

You all did it! You raised $25,000 for Mountain Elementary through out APEX Fun Run! What an amazing accomplishment. A huge shout out to the MPC and all the students and families who hustled for pledges. All this money goes directly to support the arts at Mountain.

Speaking of the arts, the 2nd graders performed their play this week and knocked it out of the park. Once again our choreographer, Casey Moroso, worked her magic and somehow managed to get 27 second graders in step. Of course this would not have come together with out the dynamic teaching duo Mrs. Honig and Ms. Cory, and the support of Ms. Bailee. This team of educators continues to demonstrate their commitment to their students through their hard work and enthusiasm. Well done to all!

We have minimum days all week. TK and K are released at 12:15 and grades 1-6 are released at 12:35.

An essential component of determining school staffing and program needs for the upcoming year is the development of an enrollment projection.  We must establish an accurate count of students by grade level who will return to attend Mountain School next year.  

If you currently live outside of the Mountain Elementary School District or will move out of the district before the fall, you must request an Inter-District Transfer Form from your school district of residence. Inter-District Transfers must be approved annually by both school districts prior to fall enrollment and should be obtained as soon as possible.  

Please help us by completing this survey on or before before Friday, March 6, 2026. If you have multiple children enrolled at Mountain, feel free to include them all in one response.

We’ve all heard it: "I can’t do this!" or "I’m just not good at math." These small phrases can stop a student's progress in its tracks. Our brains are like muscles, they grow when we do hard things. When you hear your child express a "Fixed Mindset" (like "I give up"), help them pivot to a Growth Mindset by adding the word YET.

Fixed: "I don't understand this."  

Growth: "I don't understand this yet."

This week, try to "catch" your child using the word YET and celebrate their persistence!✋
