Dear Mountain Parents and Guardians,
We're writing to welcome you to Mountain Elementary and the Mountain Parent Club. The Mountain
Parent Club (MPC) is a 501 (c) (3) non-profit corporation that was created years ago to enhance
Mountain's educational environment and raise funds for the enrichment of Mountain School students and
staff. All parents / guardians are automatically members of the MPC and welcome at all meetings, held
once a month, usually on the first Monday. We accomplish our fundraising through four major events
throughout the school year: Drive for Schools, Fun-Run, Read-a-thon, and our largest fundraiser, the
Last year we happily donated $60,000 to Mountain Elementary to fund the visual and performing arts
teachers (art, music, drama, and dance) for the 2023-24 school year. An incredible accomplishment
considering the significant dip in available funds we experienced during the unique challenges presented
by the pandemic. It was through an enormous amount of team effort, hard work and the truly
extraordinary people that make up this school that we were able to accomplish this. We are looking
forward to continuing the journey of rebuilding this year and continuing our contributions to maintaining
and growing the arts program at Mountain School.
All of that to say, we need your help! It is only by the community efforts of the incredible parents at
Mountain that we have been able to maintain this level of financial contribution to the school. Whether you
have time to attend every meeting and be a class representative or 30 minutes to stuff some envelopes or
staff the bake sale table. It is all valuable and all a vital piece of what keeps MPC and Mountain

Our first MPC meeting will take place on Monday, August 14, 2023 at 6:30pm in the PAC room.
